Waseem is one of our stallions, and this is his page. The links below relate to him.

Waseem Ibn Maalik

(Maalik x Nefthys)
1990 15.2h grey Straight Egyptian stallion
Saqlawi Jedran in strain

Shown to several halter and futurity wins in California, Waseem has been shown mostly in open shows after his move to Utah. Trained in reining and Western Pleasure by our friend and trainer, Nellie Churchill, Waseem took the local QH crowd by surprise when he qualified for the buckle his first year out. And, even though no buckles or ribbons are given out for it, he has also excelled at herding cows and sheep.

His name means “Handsome son of the king” and through him runs some of the most royal of bloods. Bred for performance ability, conformation and personality, Waseem is an outstanding stallion and almost a perfect mirror image of his grand sire *Morafic. *Morafic, whose name evokes memories of elegance and strength, after serving for nine years as a prominent race horse and sire in Egypt, became a leading sire of the renowned Gleannloch breeding program, and sired 43 Champions and 29 National Top Tens. *Morafic’s beloved qualities of spirit, refinement, endurance and a presence that captivated all who saw him, have been passed on to Waseem.
Waseem’s other grand sire, the immortal *Tuhotmos, was unique in both pedigree and type. The only stallion in Egypt with double Shaloul breeding, *Tuhotmos became the premier stallion at El Zahraa in Cairo, before being imported to the United States in 1973. Here in the United States, *Tuhotmos became an outstanding sire of halter and performance winners in this country. An outcross for the *Morafic/Nazeer lines, *Tuhotmos’ exquisiteness, charisma and beauty, gave him an elegance and presence inherited by his progeny, including his daughter *Nefthys, dam of Waseem.
